Turning the eggs

The eggs have to be turned 180 degrees three times a day to keep the yolk from sticking to the inside of the shell. The incubator also rocks the eggs from side to side at 3 hour intervals. In the wild, the emu father, who sits on the eggs, will turn the eggs 10 times a day!
